SC vs RSC: what is different? Both councils also use rotating delegate chairs rather than one permanent delegate chair.

Current vs. reformed Council

The SC simulates the existing UN Security Council. The RSC uses a reformed structure, so delegates explore how changes in representation and procedures can affect the Council’s work. Their substantive topics are identical; consult each committee’s guide and procedural rules for its specific format.

Rotating chairmanship in both councils

Delegates take turns chairing council meetings to simulate the real Security Council’s rotating presidency. NWMUN’s Director and Assistant Director coordinate the rotation and support the delegate serving as chair.
